Thoughts from the client
“Bell’s Bespoke restored a Royal Enfield ladies Junior Champion c. 1960 for me a year ago, and I am delighted with the result. The work was carried out meticulously, and with a fine eye for detail and authenticity. For anyone considering the refurbishment of a vintage bike, I would say that you could not do better than to choose Bell’s”

Royal Enfield 1960
An exceptionally rare junior Royal Enfield bicycle, built around 1960 by Raleigh following their acquisition of the Royal Enfield name. These models were produced in small numbers, and surviving examples in restorable condition are hard to come by, making this a particularly special project.
The restoration itself presented a unique challenge due to the large number of intricate decals used on this model. To preserve the character and accuracy of the originals, each decal was carefully hand-traced from what remained on the frame.
We then cross-referenced these with multiple period photographs to ensure every shape, line and colour was correct.
Once the artwork was fully reconstructed digitally, the new decals were produced as traditional water-slide transfers — the same method used in the 1960s — to maintain the authenticity of the finish.
Beyond the graphics, the bicycle has undergone an extensive mechanical and cosmetic restoration. The chrome components have been stripped and refinished to match the original high-polish look. The saddle has been sympathetically rebuilt, with new padding and fresh hand-stitching. Every part has been cleaned, serviced and restored.
